Silicon carbide is extremely sharp and friable, making it ideal for heat sensitive applications but not as long lasting as other abrasive materials. Its unique characteristics make silicon carbide a great choice for paint removal, sanding between coats, knife scale finishing, lapidary, or any application requiring consistent scratch patterns.
